So I went to the office of the secretary for the languages department after class on Friday and was basically told that she refuses to help me because it's too complicated.

I'd like to know why exactly the people who are students, on break, can't scrape together a couple hundred dollars for a 3 hour or less plane ride? My plane ride takes 14 hours, I lose a day to time zones, and my airfare will be at least a grand.
